Lawrence D. Poster is Founder and Managing Director of the Catalyx Group, an Executive Search Firm specializing in Healthcare and the Life Sciences. Organized in 1982, Catalyx Group/Executive Search conducts searches for CEO’s, other C-level and mid-level executive and scientific positions – as well as for Advisors and Board of Director Members. Lawrence also finds one-of-a-kind talent for special situations and builds entire teams for venture-backed start-ups. Catalyx Group is based in Verona, NJ, outside New York City.

Mr. Poster’s professional experience began in Washington D. C., where he served as an economist with the federal government and later served as a consultant with Arthur Young & Company’s Quantitative Management Science Group (now Ernst and Young). Following Arthur Young, Lawrence rose through the ranks to become head of marketing for the New York Bank for Savings, a multi-billion-dollar thrift and New York’s oldest, which, following several mergers combined with J.P. Morgan Chase. In the mid 2000’s, Mr. Poster served as Executive Vice President in DHR International’s New York Office in its Healthcare and Life Sciences Executive Search Practice.

Lawrence is a Board of Director Member of the MIT Club of NNJ and former Chair of the MIT Sloan Club of New York. He is also past Member of both the Board of the MIT Enterprise Forum of New York and International Advisory Board of Ramapo College. He organized the MITEFNYC event, Emerging Technologies that will Change the World, in association with Technology Review and underwritten in part by National Public Radio. Among recent events he has organized are Fireside Chats with Lawrence Summers, President Emeritus of Harvard University and Simon Johnson, Professor of the MIT Sloan School. Lawrence also recently organized a multi-MIT Alumni Club site visit to Dover Air Force Base, Dover, DE.

Mr. Poster has been a Mentor for New York-area Healthcare Incubators and is a frequent judge at STEM fairs in NJ. He is also a long-running judge of MBA competitions at Rutgers University and twice a judge of African digital startups for MIT Solve and its predecessor, MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy/Inclusive Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs.

In addition to his work at Catalyx Group, Mr. Poster has developed two very different novel drug-delivery methods (ideas) to deliver drugs across the Blood Brain Barrier. Two world-renown labs have submitted proposals to conduct initial feasibility research for one of them.

Outside Healthcare and the Life Sciences, Lawrence has been a long-standing member of the century-old Amateur Comedy Club in New York, the nation’s oldest continuously performing not-for-profit theater club. He was also lead producer of one out-of-town show and co-produced four Off-Broadway shows.

Mr. Poster earned his B.S. in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
